President Jakaya Kikwete has accepted resignation of Prime Minister Edward Lowassa tendered yesterday morning, and has dissolved the cabinet, according to a press statement issued by State House last night from Dodoma.
State House sources said that the President is expected to announce a new cabinet anytime from now.
Political observers are considering front runners for the post of the Prime Minister the current Foreign Minister, Mr Bernard Membe, and the Minister for Local Governments, Mizengo Pinda.
However, they did not rule President Kikwete picking completely an outsider to oversee the government's affairs.
Bravo!! Mr. Kikwete, we have been waiting for long for the truth to be respected. Some people wanted us to believe lies. We thank the president for the prompt action. But this is not enough : we want our money back. It is shame to go around the world asking for money while some few unfaithful people have stolen from us. WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK. LET KIKWETE help us in this.

this is another chance for president to make some big changes in our government . if i were to advise this is what i would have told him.
make a small gov. which can contain about 15 to 18 ministers to cut cost in running the gov. the smaller gov. has always been better than bigger gov.
Go outside you are comfortable zone to pick your PM . make sure she or he does not have any ties with anybody in a removed cabinet.
Lower taxes in order to activate the economy hence increase prodn.higher taxes penalize production. People will keep most of their money to run their lives.
Let the people take care of their own destiny and not the gov. trying to decide for them.

Incredible for the possibilities high placed persons get to steal the money from hard working people.
If a peasant steals Tsh 100,000 he/she goes to jail, but Lowassa will get away with it and "resign". He stole so much money and misused the trust of the government of Tanzania. The death penalty or live imprisonment is the only way to go. Be sure he pays ANYTHING taken back to the lawabiding people of Tanzania. Bastard

I think it is high time the President chooses those people who are committed to save the people than those who want to enrich themselves. People are celebrating in the streets to demostrate that they were not happy with Lowasa since he is corrupt. Well done members of Parliament.

This is very disturbing me, If Lowasa new he did something, and new that the story will come out, for sure the president also knew who was involved before the report surface to the public. My question is why did he dinounce the cabinet?
